Just read that you need to convert your own countries vaccine passport into the French Health Pass at a cost of 36ā‚¬

the kick is you need to do it at selected pharmacy in France, could you imagine 5,000 looking for the pharmacy in a port šŸ˜±

You can not do it a head of time onlineĀ

we on the Apex TA in April , and have 2 ports in France I wonder if the cruise lines will just skip the ports ?Ā

That just adds more cost to travel, ( covnverts to $ 50+, Cdn each), not to mention the inconvenience. Not being able to do it on line is nuts. It will surely keep tourists away-Ā  but they will cut the covid numbers.

Inconvenience šŸ˜±

imagine the look of the staff faces at the pharmacy seeing 3,000 people get off a cruise and racing to their storeĀ

Thanks for posting this. That is disheartening. We have a cruise on Beyond in June that included two French ports. Also the phrase "selected pharmacy" could mean it is even harder to find a pharmacy to do it. Hope they change their minds and put it back on line.

The degree of inconvenience and the time required depends on the port. Le Havre, for example, has 14 pharmacies that can accommodate you. And those who like to just stroll around a foreign port without entering a museum or dining inside, for example, don't need to bother with the conversion.

Same issue here for us in early May.Ā  Hopefully that far off resolves cruise ship accessibility by then.Ā  The whole cruise ship and country bureaucracy is getting more complicated and disheartening by the minute.Ā  This is getting crazier rather than easieršŸ˜”

šŸ˜±, for sure, and thanks for the heads up!Ā  Will add it to the to-do list...Ā

Ā

(and by "it" I mean two things: (1) obtaining the Passe Sanitaire and (2) screaming quietly to myself)

It would be interesting to know if you could only go ashore via ship sponsored excursions and were contained within those "bubbles" if you were exempt from this?

I don't think there's any problem going ashore, just with entering restaurants, museums, etc..Ā

We went to Paris this past August. It was free at the time but it took less that 5 minutes each to convert our vaccine information and and receive our French pass with QR code.Ā
Since our Ontario vaccine information is in English and French it sped up the process as we did not need a person who read and spoke English to convert it for us.
