canadianbacon Posted February 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Hi How was the cruise? Any idea of what upgrades were done during her time in dry dock? Most importantly, how was the food? Oh, and my kids are terrified the slide will be out of order! Was it open during your voyage? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It was really tough to figure out exactly WHAT they "refurbished" during dry dock !! - The ship was great - carpet was clean (not brand new) the floors and decks were shiny - the "carnival bedding" was great (but not brand new.....) - if fact, I overheard several people thinking out loud, the same as I - "what did they do during dry dock"? (must have been engine stuff....) The food was the very, very best we have had on a cruise in a long, long time ! - Dining room, Lido deck buffet, NY Deli (DH's favorite) - 24 hour ice cream (with all the toppings !) - Pizza - all GREAT !! The water slide was, indeed, OUT OF ORDER - (lots of really upset kids and parents - absolutely no work done on it (that I saw) the entire 8 days - really hard to say when it will be back in operation again - the daily note in the Capers said "The Water Slide is currently under renovation. For your safety, the slide is closed and not expected to be opened during this cruise. Please accept our apologies for any disappointment"

canadianbacon Posted February 22, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 22, 2006 Thanks very much for the great review. We're looking forward to March 8!! FYI, my wife tells me she phoned carnival and they told her they have closed the slide for "safety reasons".
