San Juan Hotels (Pre-cruise)

The Sheraton Old San Juan is right across the street from most of the passenger ship docks or a short cab ride to the others.  El Convento in Old San Juan is very nice in a restored old convent.  The Condado is the "beach" for San Juan and the Hilton was nice but a cab ride to the passenger terminals.  We just always seem to gravitate to Old San Juan over the beach.  35 years living at the beach in Destin, FL might have made us that way.....🍺

If we were to go to San Juan again for a cruise, we would definitely choose the Sheraton for one overnight.  Last time we stayed at the Decanter Hotel. Nice room, but the security was a bit sketchy. We envied all the people just wheeling their bags across the street to the ship 🙂

I have 2 recommendations:

El San Juan Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton - This is a classic old San Juan hotel. There is an in house casino and numerous great restaurants. Great beach venue. Very classy. Hilton has done a great job restoring this classic hotel to its original glory.

Water - a boutique hotel. Great rooms, very stylish. A real jewel.
