Safe travels today!  It's a beautiful morning here - the weather is great so far.

Last night we walked to the beach,  the jetty and Seafood Atlantic.  Fresh fish, clams and clam chowder were all fantastic!

It's cold to us and it's going to get colder tonight! We wish we were hopping on a cruise ship and heading south!

The resort is huge and right across the street from cruise terminal 3, this morning we could see Mardi Gras from our room!  5 minute walk and we were in queue to board!

For $299 per night we thought it was a very nice place...

No critters to be found at the pools or heated lazy river

I'm glad you liked it! We've been on the property a few times but have not been in any rooms. Great location for cruising on MG.

Our room had jacuzzi,  a king bed with a partial divider separating it from a queen bed, sofa and large living room.  Best of all was the view when we woke up this morning...

We did walk, I estimate 20 minutes.  Needs that walk after dipping those clams into butter.  For fresh fish, delicious steamed clams and clam chowder in a casual "seafood market" atmosphere I recommend Seafood Atlantic highly, especially the fresh fish.  Next time we're here we would eat there again rather than try one of their nearby competitors.

This is a Premier Cruise.  For those who don't know,  if you gamble more than a tiny amount of time in the casino,  you'll likely get future Premier Cruise invitations, qualifying you for free drinks,  reduced cabin rates and cash and prize drawings only the Premier cruisers are eligible for...

Big Chicken was our first stop after dropping off luggage in the room. It was yummy,  on a par with Chick-fil-A, maybe not quite as good. But juicy white meat instead of substandard oily buffet and MDR chicken is a great improvement!

Out of curiosity Beth, what is cold to you?  Below 60? Below 50?

Right now it's 30 and sunny, but after midnight will be single digit wind chill.

Thanks,  Big Chicken will be a regular stop for us. Thanks to you,  St Greg, Sid, KMom and others for your reviews which really helped me to plan. Tried Big Chicken FIRST thanks to your live reviews. BTW, the small ship passing Mardi Gras in the pic of the sandwich is The Victory, a gambling cruise ship.

That's what I was thinking!  I walked from the hotel to the ship in shorts, short sleeves and was fine.  Coming from 18, 50 feels like heaven,  even with the clouds and intermittent rain.

14 days till our first Big Chicken sandwich.  The countdown is on.  Snagged a 10:00 am A-01 check in.

Right now the entire casino is non-smoking. I'm sure Carnival has a good reason,  but to me the separation between the non-smoking casino and smoking casino seems big enough. I'm wondering if this will chase the smokers to the nonsmokers side and I won't be able to find a seat at a table,  with the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling views of the ocean,  instead of the smoker's view of lifeboats...😁🏴‍☠️
