straw market in Nassau

My 18 year old daughter and I would like to walk to the straw market by ourselves to shop for a couple hours while my husband stays on the ship with our younger 2. He's afraid it's not safe for us alone, but our youngest is unvaccinated so can only do bubble tours. Is he right or will we be fine at the straw market for a couple hours? Thanks in advance for your advice!

You’ll be fine at the straw market during the day.

It’s exclusively a tourist attraction, so the local authorities have a strong interest in keeping it safe.

Just bring a strong willingness to say “No thank you” about a million times. 😉

Plus, you walk to it via Woodes Rogers Walk, which is along the shore and loaded with tourists.

Should be fine.

Trust me when I tell you that you wont be in the straw market for a few hours. It is so tightly packed, cramped, and hot as 3 hells in there. Everyone sells the same thing but there are lots of shops to go to nearby

Straw market is under 10 minutes from the entrance to the port. I was hoping that I had a picture of the entire shore area, but did not.  Here is the Straw Market from the ship and inside.

Thanks!  Oh my goodness - I had forgotten how much stuff is there!
