Tell me about the Horizon

Got a great deal for the Horizon in March. Haven't been on her yet.

Horizon is my favorite Carnival ship! 

 

- Get to shows early. Liquid Lounge is small for the size of ship. 30 minutes is generally recommended. The same applies for comedy shows in the Limelight Lounge. 

 

-If you want to try Teppanyaki, book online before embarkation. It fills up quickly. I enjoyed the experience.

 

-JiJi Asian Kitchen. This was my favorite specialty restaurant on the ship, so much so that I booked a second night before the end of the cruise. Well worth the $15 upcharge. 

 

-IMAX Theater is a unique experience at sea. I saw two movies on my sailing. Each show was maybe 1/4 to 1/3 full?

 

-Don't miss breakfast and sea day brunch in the main dining room. Much better than the breakfast buffet. 

 

-BlueIguana Cantina is my go-to lunch on the Lido Deck. Love the burritos and tacos, and the salsa bar!

If you like Bourbon/Whisky hit Guy's Pig and Anchor Brewhouse, they have a selection you won't on other Carnival ships or anywhere else on the Horizon. They also have a decadent Bloody Mary that is great even without all the garnish, its the one place you can always get bacon 😉

If it is available, I highly recommend the brewery tour. When we took it, the brewmaster was highly entertaining, and they give you plenty of beer during it.  You also get a souvenir pint glass at the end.
