Canceling reservations after April, only for unvaccinated?

After Carnival's announcement of the new protocols, I'm sure there are many cancelations.

We're vaccinated but wanted to cancel our bookings and wait for the worst of the pandemic to be over.

The casino dept rep is telling me that the only reason for cancelation with full refunds is if the guest is not vaccinated.

What's your experience?

I'm pretty sure casino offers may be different and are handled through a different department. I read the cancellation letter carefully, and it should apply to any cruise through April. There seems to be some confusion about cruises past April, as many of us have multiple cruises booked and got a flood of emails for every cabin. I got one for every booking, so it seems extra confusing. On top of that, the online cancellation options are still locking folks out that should be able to cancel. As far as unvaccinated, I think just simply stating that you can't meet the protocols or are unwilling to, should suffice. I'm hoping they update the online options for cancelling soon. Still not working as of a few min ago. Going to wait a few days before calling and sitting on hold for a long time, much rather do it online. Good luck with your cancellation, many of us are in the same boat and just as confused.

I just canceled an October casino rate cruise for a full refund.  We are fully vaxxed and boosted and have cruised with Carnival recently, so they know our vaccination status.  We were able to cancel our October cruise with no questions asked.  I wish the casino department would quit being so difficult about cancellations.  Don't mean to pry, but if you aren't boosted, you can bring up that as a vaccination concern.  Carnival is clearly stating that boosters may be required to sail.  Heck, maybe 2 boosters will become the protocol.  No one knows.  That is why Carnival is allowing you to decide what you want to do about future cruises until Feb.15th.  After that, you accept whatever protocols they decide to implement.
