Cruise Next Certificate question

If purchasing cruise next certificates onboard, the OBC you receive Is that for the current cruise you are on or is it for a future cruise?

 

Can the OBC be used to pay for the service charges if you haven’t pre paid them? Or can it be used to purchase more speciality dining ?

the obc is for the current cruise you are on and they can be used for specialty dinning

I've always used the OBC against the CN certificates I've just purchased>> so I pay $250 to my cabin portfolio for $500 of CN.

I'm not sure if that is no longer permitted (?)

That's what we have always done.

 

Why pay $500 to get $250 when you can pay $250 to get $500!
