Rare KKB Posted January 29, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) I see the airport is close. Any suggestions of areas to stay? We have a lot of IHG points but the only hotel is the Crown Plaza Copenhagen towers--this doesn't appear to be near dining/shops/sights. We will be there 3 nights prior. to our July 31 cruise. THANKS! Edited January 29, 2022 by KKB
Rare KKB Posted January 29, 2022 Author #2 Share Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) A Queen, King or 2 doubles. My 6'2" hubby fits in a double by himself but not with me too... Clean, safe & location are more important that fancy. Edited January 29, 2022 by KKB
Rare KKB Posted January 29, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted January 29, 2022 OK...I am looking a the Mayfair. Seems centrally located. Can get a Q room for $586 total for 3 nts via Capital One travel portal (points). Looks like the best price for a decent hotel in a great location. hallasm Posted January 29, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2022 Crowne Plaza is not close to dining /shopping except for the ‘Fields Shopping Mall’ at the other side of the railway - but you’ll have the Metro or Rail station close to the hotel - 12 to 15 minutes by train or Metro to the City. Mayfair is close to the Central Station, but it is located in the ‘red light district’ - however no problems with safety.
emt1958 Posted February 1, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2022 I will be staying for two nights post-cruise May 2022. Any recommendations to a hotel in the middle of sightseeing? Thank you for your help. Andrew
hallasm Posted February 1, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 1, 2022 There is a topic - Copenhagen Hotel Options - with many good options. Some of the popular hotels are Hotel Bethel, Admiral Hotel, Nyhavn 71, and the Square.
SusieKIslandGirl Posted February 5, 2022 #7 Share Posted February 5, 2022 In 2017 we stayed at the Imperial Hotel near Tivoli. We were able to walk to the hotel from the train station which we took from the airport.
Rare Scottishclover Posted February 7, 2022 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2022 We stayed at Tivoli Hotel once for a long weekend and enjoyed it. Walkable to almost everything and we got a special package so we could visit Tivoli Gardens. When we returned a couple of years later before a cruise, we decided to stay in a Scandic Hotel in Malmo. Much cheaper than Copenhagen hotel prices and we used public transport to explore Southern Sweden. Direct train links over the bridge to Copenhagen in around half an hour. It might seem a bit left field to some but we loved staying there. It’s a good idea if you have already been to Copenhagen before.
