Joy on the Joy

On the Joy and the ship has only a little over 900 people on board.
Ship is amazing and everyone is correct when it comes to the Haven!
30 years ago, we started in an inside room, then tried a balcony and never went back. Now it is the same with the Haven. It is our first time in the Haven (celebrating my 60th birthday so we decided to splurge) and have been on the ship a day and we are sold.  Service, Restaurant and Lounge areas are amazing!
Also embarkment was a breeze! Covid test at 9:30 am, waited 20 minutes for results, went to the VIP lounge for a snack and onboard at 10:30.

I hope you have a wonderful time!  Can you check on something for me?  For some reason, I was thinking the Joy did not have some things we are interested in when we cruise......it was either a craps table in the casino, or maybe the heated loungers in the spa.  If you happen upon either or these items, could you please post.  Joy has some cruises I'm interested in, but had passed over because I was thinking they were lacking something....

Joy does not have a Thermal Spa.  Only reason I have not sailed on her yet.

mompus & tngman: There's another thread discussing aft vibration on the Joy.  If by chance either of you take a walk around the back of the ship, any comments/feedback on any notable/significant vibration would be very much appreciated.

We have a cruise booked next year on the Joy, currently in an aft cabin.  We've been in aft cabins on Bliss and Breakaway and never felt anything unusual.

Thanks very much, and enjoy your cruise!!

Yes I read that too.  We are in the courtyard penthouse on the 18 floor. Just so you know…we are so close to the Haven restaurant, lounges, concierge, and sun deck (all forward).  Nothing for the Haven passengers in the aft other than the cabins.

What a treat to cruise with only 900 people onboard! Enjoy! Can you post a list of the current officers & staff? Might be easiest to take a picture of that screen that displays them all (though it can be hard to read). Thanks!

We are doing a b2b on the Joy starting next week. Do you know who the Haven bartenders are? Thanks.

We are cruising Joy in the Haven Forward Facing Deck 11 in March (The Spring Break/St. Patrick's Day cruise), and patiently waiting on a bid to the 2 BR. Wishing we had originally booked the 2 BR, but we are taking a gamble that we will get the upgrade. I envy the 900-person cruise, but really hope that attendance picks up for the industry. Even at 50% capacity, that's 2000+ people, and the crew has to be struggling with the reduced income.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your sailing! We just booked the Haven for March. Looking forward to it! Love to hear helpful hints.

@mompus or @tngman   Could you please tell Efren, the concierge, that Anne and Ma’am Cathy will be seeing him soon? We had the pleasure of getting to know him on our Encore sailings last year.  😀

have a wonderful cruise; we are doing joy haven aft both in sept 2022 and oct 2023; what i liked about the joy when we first heard about it is the casino being non-smoking except for a closed in area in the back(if true); hated always walking below the open decks on other ships under the casino floor and smelling the cigarette smoke despite any filtration systems on board;;
