Royal Up question-won’t let me modify

I was trying to raise/lower bid for a casino comped interior/virtual balcony to a superior balcony for our March 26 Odyssey of the Seas, but it won’t let me modify. Does that increase my chances of getting my bid accepted?  I bid $5 over minimum and I see there are several superior oceanview cabins available and no virtual balconies left.

I thought once it showed pending you couldn't modify?

Other than when locked, modifications of bids should be available all the way to sailing.

No, the modify/cancel link should give you the price slider choice just like during initial bid.

No, it just means Plusgrade may have issues with their IT system just like RCI. A call to RCI for a reset may unlock the bid.

I have always  been able to modify my bid up until it was rejected. I believe in looking through other's experiences that you are likely to get that upgrade once it goes pending.

All bids are usually in pending status from the time of the bid till sailing - it's only closer in that some become locked/expired and one stays pending, which may indicate a winning bid.

Sometimes I have difficulty modifying on my phone; I find my computer browser works better with the RoyalUp website.  Have you tried that?  Does your superior balcony bid say “pending”, something else, or nothing at all?  Did you bid on other categories or just the “superior balcony”?  If you did bid on other categories, do those say pending, canceled, etc?

I’ll try going on my computer. My superior oceanview balcony says pending(it’s 51 days out). I just bid on this since I don’t want to get a bad balcony location or obstructed view balcony but I might try that, too.

I gather from other posts that you might be on Odyssey.  Having not yet sailed her, I have no idea about bad locations/severity of obstructions with regard to RoyalUp categories.  Let us know what you see on the computer website.

Many of the balconies on deck 6 have some obstructed view.  There's a list somewhere on Cruise Critic that lists which cabins one should avoid and those with minimum obstruction on the Quantum class ships.  Although Odyssey is an Ultra-Q class the stateroom decks are quite similar.

You were right. I’m able to adjust my bid on the website on the computer.

Thanks, I know I could find the info if/when I book that ship; RoyalUp categories sometime add another wrinkle to such decisions…and I certainly am not the one to offer any advice on that combo.
