One event that we have not seen on either our December 10 & 11 day B2B cruise on the Connie or on these two 7 day Reflection cruises are Beyond the Podium lectures. They offered them on each of the three 7 day Edge cruises we were on in August as well as the Apex 7 & 9 day cruises in November we were on.

Any one know if Celebrity has stopped offering them fleet-wide, as it was always something we looked forward to going to on sea days?

We only occasionally cruise the Caribbean and we not seen a Beyond The Podium speakers on those cruises.  We are used to having them on Alaska, TAs, TPS South America and Asia cruises.  I hope they haven’t t done away with them.

It just seemed kind of strange since the Edge and Apex Caribbean cruises we were on had them. Prior to the pandemic the 10 and 11 day Caribbean cruises on the Reflection we were on in 2019 had 2-3 each sea day. But then again I can understand with the Omicron variant popping up over the holidays, it kind of set things back a little. Hopefully, they’ll start offering them again once the pandemic has been downgraded and clearly in the rearview mirror. One can hope anyway … 😎

We went on a 5 hour Celebrity excursion to the Green Grotto Caves and the Dunn River Falls today and had a great time.

We went to the Dunn River Falls about 7 years ago and did the full wet walk up the river. So as not to ruin those great memories 😂 we decided to stay dry, walk all the way down to the beach and back, and just enjoy watching others make the trek this time. 😁

Nice. On the Reflection on 3/26. On all my cruises (about 15) we have never stopped at Falmouth, are there any excursions you would recommend?  I see your later post on the caves and Dunn river falls one. Any other you’ve heard of bring good?

I would definitely recommend the excursion we went on as long as you are not physically impaired, as there are a lot of steps to walk down and back up if you just want to walk down to the beach. But if you’re physically in great shape and want to join in the fun of walking up the river falls, that is definitely a lot of fun and the main reason for going to the Dunn River Falls.

But, I would also like to note that most of the folks that made the full walk up the river falls were in the 20-50s range. But I will also say we saw some older folks doing the wet walk as well! It all depends how physically healthy you are. It takes about 45-60 minutes to go the whole stretch, from the beach to the top with various breakout points along the way, so you don’t have to walk the whole way if you don’t want to. This picture BTW was just one of about six segments of the walk.

Thanks, I’m in great shape but my wife is just ok and would not want to walk up those falls. Ever hear of anyone going on the Discovery Bay beach resort 4 hour one?

Nope, but I take it this is the Celebrity excursion you’re referring to. Maybe someone following this thread may have some insights into this excursion.

BTW when I walked the river falls 7 years ago, my DW didn’t want to do it, so she just walked along on the path that follows along the river and took pictures.

I’ve come up with a strategy of sitting out on our corner aft-facing balcony on a quite morning such as today even if the sun is glaring down from the side with only a smidge of shade to take advantage of. Now for you folks who have the luxury of having a wall panel on both sides of your balcony, you can just shift your table and chairs to the shady side. It’s not so simple in a corner cabin, especially if you like to access the internet while sitting on the balcony. But it’s doable given the right circumstances.

Of course, you first have to have a “relaxing” morning to even think of this. 😂

Then if there is a little bit of shade on the balcony in front of the door, you can position the table and chair like this.

But if there s very little shade, you might try this.

Like I said it has to be a “relaxing” morning to even think about this kind of stuff like this. 😂😂

And then for you diehards like me that just have to sit out on the balcony even if there is no shade, here’s another option. 😂😂

Does this have an extra charge?  It doesn't appear to have any indicator in the Today.

I believe it does, not sure of the exact amount though. It's "included" with our room, so I'll definitely be there! I'll have to see how it compares to the Porch burger and the Luminae burger :)
