Recent experience taking taxi to ruins?

Has anyone recently just hired a taxi for the day to take you to the ruins?  My son and his family were able to do this a few years ago and enjoyed it.

We haven’t done it and I wouldn’t particularly recommend it “on spec” (Native Choice has been the recommended tour company for years on CC, that I would probably use) - however, to answer your question, the taxi did actually offer us an excursion to the ruins this week for the first time  as we exited the port.
