Good Morning people of Cruise Critic, I'm sitting in Pier 88 in Manhattan having completed the COVID test and check-in. When we got here, they gave us a paper with the revised itinerary. I would have liked more advanced notice, but I'm going on a cruise and unlike some of y'all, I'm not going to pitch a fit. Pretty excited actually. New itinerary below:

TL;DR-St Thomas and Grand Turk, out; San Juan and Antigua, in

Original

Puerto Plata: 1000-1700

St. Thomas: 1200-1900

St. Maarten: 700-1700

Tortola: 0600-1300

Grand Turk: 1200-1800

New (and improved?)

San Juan: 1600-23:59

St. Maarten: 1100-2200

St. Johns, Antigua: 0700-1900

Tortola: 0600-1400

Puerto Plata: 1100-1800

I won't be checking back here often throughout the cruise, but plan to do a review afterwards. For some context, I arrived to the port shortly before 10:00 (10:00-10:30 check-in time) and finish everything about 10:30. I was a naysayer about testing at the port (and still prefer to test at home), but they have a really smooth operation here in NYC. I was really impressed.

This shows how different we all are. I liked the original itinerary better. I prefer St. Thomas to Antigua. I have never been to Grand Turk so would like to check it out. I don't mind San Juan, but don't like the late time there. I enjoy evenings on the ship for dinner and a show. Though sometimes a surprise itinerary provides fun doing something you didn't expect. When something unplanned works out, it can feel more rewarding.

Was Puerto Plata cancelled, or did they reshuffle the cruise ports again?

Puerto Plata was cancelled because they want to get us back to NY ahead of a storm that will hit the area Thursday night. The plan is to dock sometime late Thursday and then do normal turnaround Friday.
