Cruise Trip Insurance - recommendations

Hello all

I have an upcoming weekend trip on Freedom that I need to purchase trip insurance for. It is a quick weekend cruise that we scored extremely inexpensive airfare on so we are flying in the morning of the cruise (i know this is a no-no but the airfare was too good to pass up). Does anyone have any recommendations for a good trip insurance company to purchase? We are flying from CT to FLL March 4 so I am worried about potential weather delays that may cause us to miss the ship. Just want to make sure I'm covered just in case.

I used the Trip Insurance store in the past.  Very good service.

Then I found my insurance company (house and cars) has a deal with one of the travel insurance companies, and I book through them.

What I do is to NOT cover the cost of the cruise.  If I miss it, I will be disappointed, but not in dire financial straits.  It is already paid for.  But I do want the medical and medevac coverage.  So I insure for $0.  It costs less that $40.  I have found that I can cover up to $500 of trip cost for under $60, so have started to do that.  I get something back.

  • Thanks 1

There is a board on Cruise Critic dedicated to travel insurance. I find great info and advice there, check it out:
