mkerner Posted February 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2022 We are doing a pre-stay in Madrid prior to our hotel. Does anyone have any information on what hotel Viking uses? Thanks.
millybess Posted February 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2022 We have booked the Madrid extension for our trip next year and my understanding is that Viking uses the InterContinental. However, we are now feeling more comfortable about doing this on our own, so we might cancel the extension.
Redtravel Posted February 16, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2022 Viking hotels are usually very good. However, you can stay at other hotels. If you bought Viking Air, you may asked to pay a small deviation fee. On one trip, we wanted to book an extension. Extension hotel was sold out. Viking told us that we could book our own hotel. Paying the deviation fee and booking our own hotel room was excellent. We used hotel points and stayed in a better hotel in a more convenient location. Kentishincanada Posted February 17, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2022 We did the Madrid extension a couple of years ago. We were boarding in Barcelona. We stayed at the Intercontinental. The room wasn’t wonderful, but then most European city hotels rooms are smallish, but the breakfast was excellent as was the city tour. We were also taken by train to Barcelona. We felt the extension was very good value and we enjoyed the restaurants etc. that the Viking representative recommended.
