Are ports totally open in September for northern East Coast?

We're considering a cruise from NYC up through Newport, Portland, Bar Harbor, Halifax....wondering about the dates...are these areas still in tourist mode with attractions and restaurants open in September?

That's high season for Canada/New England cruises from NY . We've done those cruises many times, and yes, everything is open and everyone is waiting for you to spend your money in their town

September is probably the best time of year for the Northeast coast.  The tourists have thinned out, the ocean water is at its warmest, so you can experience it at its best.
