New Turks & Caicos Port

I read this morning that T&C have a new 40 million $ terminal and that HAL, Carnival, Princess, Crystal, Silversea, Radisson & Oceania will begin stopping there on Feb. 25. I wish RCI could/would include that as a stop on some of their ships....something "new" would definitely be welcomed--maybe in place of Nassau........

do you think it's a matter of time or is this a port that royal carib will not include? everyone i know who's been there says it is awesome. what a shame.

I believe the Carnival SIGNIFICANTLY subsidized the building/upgrading of the port facilities there, so it may be that RCI is not permitted to stop there...at least for a while.

 

That might explain why RCCL hasn't started visits there.

I just wish RCL would do new destinations anywhere else. Like the south Pacific or the Orient or Australia. The constant same in the Caribbean has gotten too boring.

Although I prefer RCI - I sail on various lines. One cruise line just can't have it all.

 

However, all cruises are great.

I don't go for the ports-- I go for the shipboard experience. IMHO, when you've seen one island, you've seen 'em all. I guess I feel that way because I'm not a big shopper--at least for souvenir-type items. I'd rather be sipping a drink by the pool, than wandering through a jungle or or lugging tax-free liquor back to the ship! It's the closest thing to Vegas (and more personal) that I've found! Love cruising!
