Coffee Issues.  Had them again.  I just can’t do this right for some reason.

 

I made the first cup fine.  Spilled a little coffee grounds on table.  Put the filter cap on, forgot to put a filter in.  Caught it, put paper filter in, screw that up somehow, and just plain failed my second cup.

 

Also, had an issue at breakfast that I will expand on later.

You can get beef carpaccio in the dining room as an appetizer on at least one night without paying extra. I'm not a big fan of raw meat.  I've had it before, but there is no appeal.

 

@RoguepersonAs for the filet flavor, we were on HOTS last Nov/Dec for a b2b.  First week we went to the cheers with an officer lunch and had really good filet.  The second week, mine tasted like a chunk of roast beef and not filet at all.  It was so weird.  DH's was good.

Closest civilization is Cockburn Town, Bahamas.  We are about 400 miles Northeast of it.  Cockburn town is a small town on an island with a population of 271.

 

 

Kind of a cloudy day but still fairly rough.

Because of my coffee fail, I needed more coffee.  But look!

 

 

We finished off the canister!  I still have a different blend in the ziplock bag.  I’m still going to be close, but i won’t run out.  I mathed well after all.

Have you ever tried a french press?  It may be easier. Just coffee water press and pour.

Thanks for the great pics and review of chef's table. I thinks we will definitely give it a try on our Sept cruise!

Actually, we have.  Two major issue with the french press.  One.  disposal of the grounds.  Its harder to dispose of.  An aeropress, you just pop the grounds into a cup with no mess.  Big 2nd issue, the water onboard is not very hot and the french press depends on heat to steep the flavor before pressing.  The press just separated coffee from grounds. The Aeropress depends on pressure to force water through grounds and filter to extract coffee.

So we were a little late.  As soon as we sat down, I had an iced tea and my two escargot ready even before I put in my order.  My wife had preordered because of allergies so her appetizer was there too.  They knew we were coming.  Impressive service.

After dinner, we made it to the show.  Introducing Michelle Murlin

 

 

 

 

Her voice is incredible.  She was able to switch seamlessly from Cyndi Lauper’s high voice, to Cher’s lower tone voice.  Amazing.

 

Afterwards.  I made it to the hush party.  I missed the first one earlier in the cruise.

 

 

It was held in the spotlight lounge.  I realize it is possible to screw this venue up.  When I was on Brilliance, i found it to be lackluster and disjointed.  Not here.  THIS is how a hush party should be.  Both sides in sync with one another.  There was about a 15 minute stretch where i kind of felt like the DJ cheated by overlaying a beat to some 80s music to keep it in sync with the other channel, but it when that same beat crossed 4 or 5 songs in a row, i felt that the balance was lost between the two channels, however, he did rebalance them.

 

Well, tomorrow is the last day.  I did not get a chance to scan the cruise compass tonight.  My wife came back to the room first and by the time i got back, she was in bed so i didn’t want to wake her.  I will post tomorrow..or technically later today.

This is pretty much the last morning I get to see this.  

 

I woke up late and missed MDR breakfast.  When i asked the wife if she wanted to go to the Windjammer, she made a face.  Thats a no, and given my experience yesterday at breakfast (which i will elaborate when the cruise is over) you will understand why i wasn’t pressed either.  So i went to the windjammer with my procured pots and got hot water for coffee.

 

I’m trying to figure out why my coffee is tasting different and I just realized.  This is my second batch.  Its supposed to be some beans from Hawaii that my mother in law got and she gave it to us.  Its a little week.

DH loves the chilled soups.  I will say it's weird that the three choices outside of the classics are all seafood.

Tonight’s production show.  Can’t Stop the rock.

 

 

 

 

 

There was a lot of head scratching in this show for me.  The female singers were great.  The one male one…he was ok.  The entire cast is talented.  However the music was not right somehow.

 

This was a rendition of Prince’s “When doves fry” in Gregorian chant?  And then they butchered it.

 

 

Shaft.  and then he popped out.  

 

Apparently you can dance to the Mission Impossible theme.  I whispered to my wife “oh look, they’re dance fighting…”. She died laughing.

 

 

All in all, just an odd show.   This was the only production show we had in 12 days.  They couldn’t have been aboard since Baltimore, have they?
