Rare smillerholmes Posted March 15, 2022 #26 Share Posted March 15, 2022 Add me to the list as a fan of the smaller Jewel class ships. I have not sailed on Jade (YET!), but I have been on both the Pearl and Jewel. I will echo what others have said here, it has everything needed for a pleasant and enjoyable cruise without all the bells and whistles. Love O'Sheehans and I am a lover of a watching the wake so the aft area of the ship is where I like to hang out.
Rob-Bob Posted March 15, 2022 #27 Share Posted March 15, 2022 I have been on the Jade. I loved it because it was a cruise ship on the high seas with me on it. 2
Rare JGmf Posted March 15, 2022 #28 Share Posted March 15, 2022 Joe- Definitely give it a try. You'll enjoy it. Like you, I had been on the Breakaway class ships for years, but did a Gem cruise this past December. I had sailed on the Gem about 10 years prior. Prior to embarkation day, in my mind's eye, I imagined the Gem as a WAY small ship than it actually is. In actuality, the main lobby seems bigger than the other ships, the theater is more comfortable, and the pool deck is more expansive/open, not obstructed by service areas and kiddie pool water park. I did miss not having the bars on the Waterfront, but hanging out at the pool bars was fun too. Enjoy your cruise!

After someone was kind enough to post some really great pics (and also many people stating how much they like sailing Jewel Class ships)...I am sold! I always book our cruises through CAS (Casinos at Sea) and they cannot make a booking for us more than 18 months out. The cruise we want to book on the Jade is a 14 day cruise hitting 10 islands late November early December 2023 out of Tampa We should hit the 18 month mark late May/Early June and both the Casino Rep and myself have notes to contact each other then. Not only that but I am also watching to see if any other different itineraries come up before then. I am really excited to sail on Jade!
complawyer Posted March 16, 2022 #30 Share Posted March 16, 2022 red-sol or if you dont want to wait, you can go on line to the ncl website and book directly thru them. but i imagine if youre booking thru CAS, you're probably getting a price break ,
complawyer Posted March 16, 2022 #31 Share Posted March 16, 2022 we were on the jade summer of 2018. nice ship, but personally the ship doesnt matter to me. i want the sea experience and the ports of call. we've been on a number of ncl ships, and the only disappointment was the haven aft cabin suite on the epic. configuration of the cabin was terrible the bed took up almost the entire area, and the bathroom was awful, but other than that we liked the epic also. my favorite is the getaway, but only because of the waterfront. we had a suite on the spirit years ago and the cabin was lovely. of course the butler, concierge and the separate restaurants always enhance the sailing experience. just ask sthrngary! CAS is actually just a different arm of NCL.
