Wi-Fi (value vs premium) ?

Does anyone think it is worth the difference in value vs premium wi-fi selection?  We only use it to keep in touch with back home (elderly parents & pet emergency).  We like to use the WhatsApp to text onboard sometimes, but other than email for husbands work that's basically it.  We will be sailing on Mardi Gras, and just wondered recent experiences on this ship with both of the plans.  Thanks for any updated information on personal experience!

For just emailing and messaging it should be fine.

 

I play a game and need the extra. .. anything that is streaming or gaming I would bump up.

I always go with the Premium plan, but was wondering if the lowest tier -- Social -- would be adequate for my staff (taking several on a cruise next month). With that they should be able to text message, F-book message and such, correct? Does that plan actually block other sites, or is is just so slow that it's a practice in futility?

We always get the value plan on Carnival, and it's on/off depending on ship.  Just got back from Princess cruise and had the free premium wi-fi, and we could basically do anything.  I think we are spoiled, lol.  But since we are back on Carnival and will have to pay and choose jw about connectivity on Mardi Gras?
