traceytd Posted April 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2022 We received the check from Carnival Cruise line casino department yesterday. We have not sailed with Carnival for at least 5 years. We also have never won more than $1300.00 in the casino. It says it’s for O/S bal. e-bank. This is the stub. has anyone ever had one of these? thanks in advance Tracey🙂🙂🙂

JT1962 Posted April 10, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2022 Maybe you won, but the machine malfunctioned like in the story at the link below? https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna15086 Although I’m not sure Carnival is under the same strict rules as the Las Vegas casinos to actually track those types of errors and reimburse customers.

Moviela Posted April 11, 2022 #9 Share Posted April 11, 2022 The casino is operated by a separate company, and they follow rules set by CLIA to settle disputes. They follow rules based on Nevada law, but do not have the same oversight. The OP might have left a balance on another line, and the person making the refund pushed the button for Carnival letterhead.
HarborHermit Posted April 11, 2022 #10 Share Posted April 11, 2022 Use the Contact Us button on the Ocean Player's Club website https://oceanplayersclub.com/ and they will straighten it out for you. It will take a few days for them to get back to you though.
mondello Posted April 11, 2022 #11 Share Posted April 11, 2022 I always wondered what happens when guests forget to cash out their casino bank. Sounds like this refund may have been meant for another guest and there was a mistake with the folio/VIFP number. OP says no recent Carnival cruises and they always cash out.
Miles of Austin Posted April 11, 2022 #12 Share Posted April 11, 2022 For an upcoming cruise I did a mandatory $200 gambling pre-payment. If I don't gamble it all away will any remaining money (eventually) be refunded via check?

Do you mean you paid a $200 Deposit on your cruise and are getting $200 back in FunPlay?

I guess the offer could include fun play but as you know that is different than the OBC. Either way they should spend the $200 on board.

If the offer came from the casino, it is FunPlay and they are basically getting a free cruise... I have three booked. If it didn't mention the casino, it is likely OBC and again a free cruise. jerseygirlinAZ Posted April 11, 2022 #16 Share Posted April 11, 2022 I got the same kind of check recently from Carnival. I was sort of surprised as I am not one to leave money. Cashed it and was happy I wasn't as big of a loser as I initially thought (though still a big loser, lol).

That's not entirely true though. I have casino offers now that have the $200 deposit for the cruise which I get back as OBC and also have fun play with the offer. It's hard to say without knowing what they booked under. Here's one example: ackpot Deal: Up to a FREE* Balcony Room + $200 FunPlay® credit + Drinks On Us! included while playing in the casino Book by May 2, 2022 Exclusive Carnival Players Club® offer Excludes taxes, fees, port expenses and deposit Available on a limited selection of sailings of up to 5 nights Reserve your cruise with a non-refundable deposit of $200 per room and get $200 to spend on board Rate Code FJ5 will be automatically applied at checkout
