We sail on the Sunshine at the end of this month and I logged in last night and there was a tab for an upgrade offer.

Been sailing many times and never saw one of these upgrade tabs on any of my bookings. Is this a new way of offering upgrades or have they been doing this for years and I just never received an offer?

We went from deck 2 OV to a spa balcony for only $190 more bucks!

There have been plenty of upsell offers the past several months, mainly due to Covid cancellations. Enjoy them while they last if you're fortunate enough to get a good offer. Yeah, they started putting them on the To Do List on a first come first served basis, rather than going down a list calling. Email offers are still used, too.

Did you log into hub app or Carnival website?

Upsell offers are now listed in your To Do List in your Cruise Planner/Manage My Cruise on the Carnival site. You may also get offers by email or phone but seems they switched more to offering first come/first served by posting on the List.

I have been checking daily for one of these pop ups for my 2 upcoming cruises and to my (pleasant) surprise I received an email one afternoon upgrading my room from a Deck 1 OV (yikes, I know) to a Deck 5 Balcony at no extra cost. No explanation or changes, just auto upgrade.

I can't imagine why other than maybe wanting to steeply discount to cheaper rooms? Or maybe because I book under Casino Offers?

Not complaining for a second!

I keep checking mine for my Apr 28 cruise multiple times a day, lol.  No hope for the May 26th cruise as it is sold out.

I've taken 2 Carnival cruises since Nov. Both were deeply discounted and with both I had initially booked an interior but was upsold to a balcony for about $100 more.

Most recently when I attempted to accept the offer in my "to do" list in my planner the Carnival web site was glitching (shocking right?) so I had to call them and was on hold forever (shocking.... never mind, too easy)

Anyway, when I talked to a rep who was very awesome btw, she said the initial room I was offered was taken. I was looking at the deck plan while asking her about other rooms in that same category and she found a cabin that was available and in a better location....

Long story short Brandiwine, if I were you I would give them a call and ask about an upsell. Maybe even tell them that you've had issues with the site so you thought it might be worth a call to check to see if you have been sent an offer?

Fortune favors the bold

Good luck and travel safe

I have a tab but when I click on it, the new screen says the offer expired. Has been like that for a week or so. I guess I missed it when it first posted. I wish they could remove it because, of course, I now keep clicking it hoping for a different outcome. I guess I am fulfilling Einstein's definition of insanity.

Call and see if they will still give you the offer.

Does the offers to upgrade come out just before your cruise?  I'm 55 days out.  I was just wondering when to start looking.

My cruise is in June.  My offers came in early March.

I haven't seen an offer like that, but good to know they exist! We did get an amazing casino offer though when we booked Mardi Gras for November 2022. Half off the rate, so we got a balcony cabin for $524 each, cheaper than an inside room. That's the best offer I've ever had.

Mine did that too, and then an offer did appear and I discovered if you click around (I don't remember exactly how I did it), you may be able to get other rooms than offered  I was offered a balcony on 6 and ended up with a balcony on 9, much better to my liking.
