Interesting, thanks for posting, but as noted above, the legal system has determined that these clauses do not always stand up,

Lots of folks (not necessarily you or other posters here) throw legal threats around but don’t necessarily act on them. And don’t forget than a multi-national company like a cruise line presents added obstacles to what legal actions are taken where and against whom. I agree. This is an area where I have found O to be willing to look at many types of issues on a “case by case” basis. Knowing who to contact is important. AlaskaNewbie68 Posted April 18, 2022 #30 Share Posted April 18, 2022 Wow, as someone said, that is way overboard for a cold. Taking antibiotics needlessly is why we have resistant microbes. Apologies, if I missed this: Did they only test for COVID once? Curious as I know several people with Omicron (we assume) who didn't test positive until their 3rd day of symptoms. brittany12 Posted April 18, 2022 #31 Share Posted April 18, 2022 This is the cruise I would have been on had we not cancelled back in January. Thank God we did. Who in the Age of Covid needs shipboard medical offices that behave like this. It's not the money per se. Its the poor diagnosis and absurd treatment. KatieBelle Posted April 18, 2022 #32 Share Posted April 18, 2022 I have added our US govt. issued Covid test kits to our luggage list. Should we experience any sniffles, etc., we will test in our stateroom. If we test negative twice, no need to "alert the overzealous" medical staff. If positive, we will proceed accordingly. -Katie

As a PA with 35 years in ENT, there is no way any of those meds are appropriate. Antibiotic prescription in cases like these have caused antibiotic resistance & should never be given. Antiviral meds do nothing for a cold, & don’t get me started on the IV recommendation. Nothing more than Mucinex, saline nasal rinses & perhaps something for a cough was needed. Good that the poster will notify O to investigate this & other cases like it.
Time To Sail Posted April 18, 2022 #34 Share Posted April 18, 2022 Recently had a problem on a Viking cruise. Cellulitis. Had wonderful care. IV's, meds, daily visits, very accommodating in the clinic. Couldn't have had better care. Oceania needs to look into this with concern.
