Have you used the Emeds in Europe

We will be on the Wonder of the Seas  TA.   Mallorca  is our port before Barcelona.  We will be getting off in Barcelona and flying  back to US at   1 pm.    We plan to use  emeds   if the ship does not provide  a test for  us. 

Has anyone used them on the ship  in a  quiet  area  where we could do them.  Has the internet  ever gone out during the procedure.   Please advise.   Thank you

While the internet is pretty good, the outages, if any, are so random that any historical reporting is meaningless. Assume, you''ll be able to test (get the Stream tier) and if interrupted, simply reconnect when the internet comes back. Do it in your cabin.

So it is  difficult  to use  these   emeds.   We will be  in  Mallorca  they day before  Barcelona.

It is very easy to do these tests online.  You definitely want to have the surf and stream wifi the day you do onboard.   Takes 15 minutes on video call.    

Check out utube videos of people doing the tests to see how it is done.

They will email you the results.

The tests are temperature sensitive so it is recommended you keep in carryon bag if flying to Port to board Wonder.

We’ve used these tests and they are very easy to use. If you have concerns about the internet, the ship should dock early enough in Barcelona to take the test before you disembark. The internet should be strong at the port.
 

We are cruising in Europe again in June and will have these test with us to use to board the ship and also fly back to the US after the cruise.  Best of luck.

We plan on using them in Amsterdam after our TA at the end of this month.  I've heard and read testimonials from many people and everyone is very happy with the process, the time it takes and the speed in which you get your results emailed back to you.  Have fun!

I'd avoid starting any test using Voom if heavy rain is approaching the ship.  Voom will go out during heavy rain and not return until the heavy rain passes the area.  That's the nature of satellite internet.  

 

If you are in a port of call and have cell service that may work better during rain.

I've used the emed tests twice in Europe over the past few months and plan to use them again in Italy this summer for our cruise. If the internet goes out, there's a button to reconnect and it shouldn't ruin anything.
