Rare Windsurfboy Posted April 19, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2022 Can only read paper books not electronic in sun. Get through one every 2 sea days. So library is useful. Have they opened them
wowzz Posted April 19, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2022 The Arcadia library was open. Had a quick browse out of interest (I use a kindle) Lots of books, but a pretty dire selection. Surely no one reads Jeffrey Archer any more ! 1
Enjoyacruise Posted April 19, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2022 The Azura library was open last week. The table to swap your old paperback books was not in use.

Ah, it’s all part of the subtle plan to return some ships to cruising from yesteryear..…one step at a time. What with the recent reintroduction of 2-hour long talks by WI stalwarts about the art of towel sculpting, the serving of ham in aspic in the MDRs and enforced shuffleboard with the previous night’s dinner table guests…..🤣
amfc_lenny Posted April 19, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2022 The libraries do need to reopen, now they have argued in effect that restrictions are lifted. though to be honest I manage fine with my kindle paper white in the sun.
Bazrat Posted April 20, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2022 The Britannia one was open next door to the crows nest, killed two birds with one stone.

Red Ray Posted April 20, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 20, 2022 The library on Azura was 'open' last month but only for about 2 hours both in the a.m and p.m. Pando have dispensed with librarians and reception staff now man the desk on a rota basis. The cases are locked and if you want a book you have to point it out to the 'librarian'. If you then find you've read it, it's not put back on the shelf but placed in a drop box for 48 hour sanitisation. I got through 7 on a 13 night cruise but it was a bit of a bind not being able to select and browse before choosing.
