Nicholsfam Posted April 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2022 Hello fellow cruisers! We are doing a 4 day cruise out of LA in June - stopping in Catalina and Ensenada. We are traveling with grandparents so not looking for any excursion that is too strenuous. Looking for something easy to do on our own in both places. What have you done in each port that you loved? Any on-your-own excursions that you would recommend....or ones we should avoid? Thanks for your help!
CruiserBruce Posted April 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2022 Catalina is discussed on the California Coast board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/142-california-coastal-pacific-northwest/
Carolyn&Phil Posted April 20, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2022 Try to rent a golf cart and drive around. They rent them several places, and the price is about the same. One thing, they require a cash deposit (not a credit card). Make a reservation in advanced. Check to see which is closest to the pier. If mobility is an issue, the driver could walk to the rental place, then drive and pick-up the rest of the group. Maps are available, and easy to use. we enjoyed it very much! Fun and different than any other excursion.

Also have your proof of vehicle insurance. The carts are considered vehicles and they wanted proof I was insured.
