Can shareholders benefit be used toward tips!

Been a while since I used the shareholders benefits and many time I have had tips included in my fare. Can I use the shareholder benefits towards the tips?

According to the policy it cannot be. That being said HAL has always treated it like cash and will apply it to your folio including gratuities. This is probably because their IT can’t figure out any other method. If you are sailing another CCL brand I would not count on it but I don’t have any direct experience with it. As long as you are on HAL you will be fine

Having sailed HAL, Princess, and Carnival, we have had it used for the tips on all three lines.

That is good to know! It’s interesting they specify no gratuities on the policy and then all seem to allow it.

I was on the Rotterdam earlier this month.  I had OBC from several sources including shareholder benefits.

See screenshots of my folio mid cruise.  They were all merged together.  They were applied to my balance due for everything EXCEPT casino.   This is the first time I saw it noted as "Not valid for casino or cash"
