Does Solstice balcony open to adjoining cabin?

We have 3 cabins, 1405,1407, 1409 on the Solstice...aft cabins.

Does anyone know if we can have the barriers on the balconies opened across all three cabins?

Yes, you can.  Ask your stateroom attendant to open them up.  He has a special tool that unhooks them from the rail.  Only the 3' Plexiglas portion will open.

We had 4 balconies opened once.  Be aware that you lose some privacy as you never know who or when someone will walk thru, so you will have to keep your curtains closed when dressing.

It is technically subject to Captain's approval, which I guess may have bearing with inclement weather. But we have never had this not be allowed.  Also BTW as I am sure you are aware, 1407 and 1409 are also connecting staterooms, which connect by way of the entrance foyer.

Our last cruise was aboard Solstice in 2020. Here's a photo of our balcony divider. You can see the hinges that allow it to be swung open and the chrome latch which holds it open.

Thanks everyone.  We are traveling with our DD, son in law and their 3 kids.  They have the connecting cabin for the boys.  But having the balconies open will allow us to stretch out over all 3 balconies.

Very nice that you have those three together!  But I would suggest asking your stateroom attendant as that is the protocol and not open them on your own with a tool.  There are sometimes reasons why they may not do it and it is their responsibility to check for permission first, and then they will open it.

There ended up being 12 of us in aft cabins on deck 10.  All five cabins were opened by our room steward for a nice long balcony!

Just got off the Alaska Solstice. we had 4 family cabins; two on one side, two on the other. What way, we were able to ‘pick’ views. Worked Ok.

Our steward already had the partition removed when we stepped in. He said he saw the same names so he removed it, but could put it back if not wanted. Thought that was Very proactive.

The one disadvantage to opening all the partitions is you lose  your privacy when getting dressed with people walking back and forth thru the balconies, always having to close the curtains and losing the natural light.

You are so right!   6 of the 12 of us were kids.   But to be honest we loved being able to connect with everyone so easily.

But we made a rule that when the curtains were closed, NO ENTRY!
