DIY princess cays snorkel

We are on Carnival Freedom and stopping off at Princess Cays. Our kids aren’t old enough to do the Carnival snorkel excursions but would still like to snorkel in good areas. I’d love recommendations! I included a princess cays map. Is anyone allowed in the areas marked sting rays or snorkeling?  I wasn’t sure if they were restricted (always or at times for booked excursions). Hope this makes sense. TIA!

I am not sure but I think the swimming and snorkeling area near the marina is open to anybody. The stingray area is only for people taking that excursion I know that.

Go to north beach and swim around the observation pavilion.   There tends to be more fish there.  I think people tend to feed the fish from the pavilion.

We snorkeled in the area in front of the private beach bungalows and loved it.
