We have often booked as a guarantee and sometimes cabins weren't allocated until a week before the cruise, or even five days before.

Did P&O send email or did you have to login?Ā

Every time we only found out by logging into our booking, now known as P&O Cruise Control. Also be aware, that it is possible for the cabin to be changed prior to the cruise. Check it several days in advance so you don't have the wrong number on your bag tags.

I didn't get an email, so I have been checking on Cruise Control hourly for the past month šŸ˜‰

Ā

They say that usuallyĀ  the later you get your cabin number, the better for upgrades. Sadly no upgrade for us - yet again

When you get your cabin number, you will need to reprint your docs, so it will ask you again what boarding time you want. All the early ones will be filled by then, so also keep the page from your original docs with your earlier check-in time, if important to you.

I haven't tried to enter any info for our P&O cruises. The first one is in August so it isn't urgent, but I would like to know how to access the P&O system to enter more details. Can you help please?

At their site, top right corner is a sign-in link ..... manage booking .... visit cruise control .... enter your details similar to the personaliser.

Ā

Left hand side is a manage booking link, and it is pretty basic from there.

Ā

But the bestest news - they now have an app too. I can sense the excitement, but I better temper that by saying it isn't necessary for check-in, just might be handy to setup at some stage.

Ā

Once that is conquered, they have a separate app for uploading proof of vaxx and health surveys. It is called VeriFLY, and has been used by quite a few travel companies. P&O doesn't go live on that app till 14th May, but it was easy to set up our profiles - no glitches yet anyway.

So far I have been going into Cruise Control, and into Manage Booking. Maybe it would be best to wait until after 14th May to use the VeriFly system.

Ā

I am glad you can sense the excitement about an app for P&O after all the glitches we have experienced with the Princess Medallion. More fun ahead.

Yeah, no rush for VeriFLY. When I set up our profiles, I wasn't aware that it wasn't ready to connect to P&O yet. All that is left to do when it goes live is add our cruise & digital copy of vaxx certificate, then do our RAT attest and health survey on the day before boarding.

Ā

This should all assist in an easy boarding, well except it will be split between technology vs manual passengers, then those that thought they could be part of the 5% unvaccinated without a medical exemption etc. My plan is to get front of socially distanced queue, and leave the dust behind - although it would be fun to watch a couple of Karen moments.

With this early cruises, I suspect there will be a lot of 'manual' passengers. Maybe, just maybe, this will result in expedited embarkation for the rest of us.

Note - Verify and P&O are separate, and you can totally finish your P&O check-in without Verifly. Verify is purely about your vaxx and health status.

OK. So I will see if I need to add anything more for the P&O check-in. I have already answered the question about vaccination.

That is the only part P&O refers to, and that is so they know whether to put you into the 95% or whether you need to register into the 5%. If you haven't been through the check-in for a while, they now have a spot to upload your boarding photo too.

I forgot - I up-loaded the photos a while ago. Thanks.

We're sailing on the 14th of June and we received our room allocation today.

Already the 11:30 boarding slot had gone, so jumped in and took the 12:00 noon one.

We were given the secondĀ  cabin from the front of the ship. I've never been this far foward before so will be a good experiment to see how our new seasick medication goes. šŸ˜µ

It's the first time that we are sailing without Avomine.

I may be searching the buffet for green apples. At least out cabin is just a short walk away. šŸ˜

Ā

Are you referring to a P&O cruise? When were you able to access the boarding time slots?

Ā

I seem to remember that a few years ago you and I talked on this forum about Avomine no longer being available. If you feel you might need something, it might be worthwhile getting some Phenergan. It needs a doctor's script. Alternatively get Wagners Promethazine 25mg - similar to Avomine.

Check hourlyĀ šŸ˜‚

Going by ours, it appears to be 50 days from departure.

Not sure if they bought forward the first slot, but for ours the only 11:30 to 12's were for priority boarding of the limited number of suites.

Ā

One tip though - even if you don't have a cabin number, print out your docs as soon as you can get a boarding time. You can print out again later, but still use the earlier copy for getting to the check-in counter, and the new one for check-in and your luggage tags. Each time you go to print your docs, it will ask you to nominate a check-in time.

Yes, we are on the ten day P&O cruise in June.

I was able to access the boarding slots straight away.

We received a updated reservation email today for our booking that had our cabin number on it for our oceanview cabin so I logged straight in to my account and the time slot was easy to find.

Ā

I don't know if our room allocation was brought foward due to having our original choice of rooms cancelled or not.

Thanks, that explains why that time slot was gone.

Yes, you're right we did discuss it and it will be our first cruise since our supplies ran out.

We did buy off the shelf Phenergan, a 25mg and a 10mg packet. No doubt the doctor can give you a stronger dose.

And if it doesn't do the job enough I will still have the ginger and wrist bands in the suitcase. šŸ˜

I love cruising but my stomach doesn't without a bit of help when those white caps appear. šŸ˜Œ

Where did you find the place book boarding time slots? Is it on Manage your Booking?
