Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted September 13, 2022 #126 Share Posted September 13, 2022 You know... $5 bets are quickly becoming a thing of the past. It's not like I have a $5 chip up there and slip one of these under it - it's more like it's going under a green or black chip. They really should be $25 match play coupons... I just got off the Equinox and it said right on the CC voucher for roulette and BJ only; was closer to a 3"x5" index card and was B&W only, no color. The photo is of the card(s) that I received from the pit boss when I redeemed my Captains Club benefit at the blackjack table (Solstice Dec 2019-Jan 2020). I looked up that photo because that is the last cruise I took and the first time that I didn't have a sheet of Captains Club coupons waiting for me in my stateroom. After reading your response, I went back and looked up a photo that I had of the old Captains Club coupon sheet (Infinity Jan 2017), and--lo and behold--it does say that it is good only for blackjack and roulette.

Thanks for researching. I'll be on the Solstice in mid Nov and the Millie at the end of the month, I'll take a pic if I can remember.
Rare SLOTheta Posted September 17, 2022 #130 Share Posted September 17, 2022 I go to gamble in Vegas every other month, sometimes every month (From CA). I’m platinum at MGM. I play a mix of table games, slots and VP. I’ve won 3 jackpots this year. When I gamble on cruise ships, I know the odds are much worse than land based casinos. But, I do it because I enjoy it. If you play VP, you need to play something other than jacks or better. If you talk to any casino bartender or staffer, they all tell you to play Double Double or Triple Double due to the payouts. I played on our last HAP cruise and paid for my trip with my winnings on VP. Play knowing you’ll lose all your money and enjoy the winnings when they come.

No offense but how many times have I heard from people in the casino that they about broke even. To me this is code for “we lost” If it was true that so many people broke even, the casinos would go bankrupt 😂 and we know that’s not happening

We like video poker also. The double double game you played was 91.22% compared to 95% for 6/5 jack or better. The worst part for us is that big 52% variance compared a 19% variance at Jacks or Better. We are not as lucky as you are so we play the boring games where our money drains slower. Even black Jack players that split tens sometimes get lucky. I think a lot of Vegas bartenders are addicted gamblers looking for a big win that they will quickly give back. Just a different perspective about odds. It is good to see big wins in ship board casinos. We were thinking how seldom we see any one win with a royal flush on a ship when we read about your wins.

Revenues can be high, but expenses can be higher...
