covid pre boarding questions

Asking for a friend who is sailing out of galveston.  I know they need to test before they board.  Will RC ask if they have been in contact with people who have tested positive or suspected of covid within a certain number of days?  If so, how many days is it?

That's part of their boarding questions, and it's 14 days.

Will they allow them to board if they have been around someone within that period of time, but they test negative?

They might have to test them at the port.  If it's positive, then no.

Whenever I am asked if I've been around someone with COVID symptoms or who tested positive, my answer is, "I am not a medical professional, so I cannot say for certain one way or another.  Since there is no option for UNKNOWN, the closest available answer would be NO."
