Fairbanks transportation information

We are staying at the Fairbanks Princess Riverfront Hotel a couple of days prior to starting our land part of our cruisetour.  We had thought of visiting the Museum of the North on the University of Alaska campus.  What are the transportation options to get from our hotel to the Museum and eating options in downtown Fairbanks?  shuttle bus/taxi/uber?  We do not have smart phones and do not wish to rent a car.  Thanks for your help.

Could we rent a local for a day?

You might want to look at the Blue Line option; https://www.fnsb.gov/DocumentCenter/View/660/Blue-Line-PDF

Thank you; that looks interesting.  As a senior we could ride for free.  Do you happen to know if it stops close to the Princess Riverside Lodge?

I think with help of Google and the route, this would be something easy to figure out.

The MAC transit system is limited.  It is operated by the Fairbanks North Star Borough so check the FNSB website for details.

In the past the Fairbanks Princess has not operated a shuttle to locations such as the Museum of the North.  I have no idea if Airlink Shuttle would be suitable in your situation.  Uber and Lyft are now operating in Alaska (the Alaska State Legislature had to modify wage and hour legislation).  And taxis are plentiful.  The Explore Fairbanks (visitor's bureau) website may have more ideas.

The Fairbanks Princess lodge has in-house dining.  The stand-alone restaurant Pike's Landing (which is associated with Pikes's Lodge) is a several minute walk.

You can most of all your transport questions answered on Google Maps.  Pick the public transportation option.
