I think besides potential tax and labor issues, it might be related to agreements with the ports, to encourage more pax to get off the ships and spend land side.

And a good way to give the crew some time off - when few passengers onboard.

Every time I thought about getting up, the dreams kept coming on fast and furious, so I was like "well, I don't want to miss out on this"... Next thing I know, it's 7:45 in the morning, and I've been in bed since 10:00... Anyhoo, I'm on vacation, so what's It matter?

I might need two big to go cups of the four dollar Americano to get me going today...

I can only (day) dream of getting that kind of sleep. Sounds wonderful.

Omelette on the way... You don't stand at the omelette line here, you just sit at the table and order. It's convenient, but sometimes I like to watch them make it too. That's the weird thing about The Galley. You can walk around to all the different stations, but you have to order from a waitress / waiter... Sometimes I think it would be easier to just walk up and say "give me one of those".

One thing that they don't have, or I haven't found, is a ship tracker. Usually there's one somewhere around the ship, or even on your cabin TV. Other than a selection of free movies, the only TV channels are news. (CNN, BBC, Fox, and MSNBC) that, and one Virgin Voyages channel.

Omelette is here!

This little area here gets packed around mid day. These are the most popular hot tubs on the ship, but also the dirtiest. I saw a bunch of guys drinking and eating pizza in the one on the right yesterday, and I walked by just now and there are still crumbs in the bottom. I don't think that they drain and refill these every night like Carnival and Norwegian.

And, of course, every ship needs an adult see saw. A few minutes ago, there was a guy and his girlfriend on it, and let's just say that there was NO WAY that he was ever going to win... I'll let you paint your own picture in your mind of that situation.

This back area, where the triple net is, goes mostly unused. Maybe due to reduced capacity, or who knows. I can tell you that they're going to have to re cover these cushions before long. They're not holding up top well to the elements or the passengers walking on them.

Going down the stairs from where I just was, is a covered area looking aft... Nice little seating areas, and a covered view of the wake... It's also just aft of The Galley, so a lot of people being their food out here to eat.

That first cup of four dollar coffee didn't do it. I had to go for another round. In other news: I'm going to have to go sit somewhere else to drink it. If you sit anywhere in The Galley, people will come by one after the other to try and take your order.

Accounting to my calculations, I've still got pretty much a whole week left on board... Today, a sea day, tomorrow Bimini, and then the second leg of the back to back begins on Wednesday. From what I understand, we'll meet somewhere to take another corona virus test, before debarking briefly. A quick check of our passports and vaccination card's, then we'll be the first ones back on board to enjoy the entire ship to ourselves for awhile.
