Santorini Sunset cruise

Has anyone taken the sunset cruise out of Santorini offered by Shore Excursions company?  Our Edge sailing is in port there until 10pm and we are considering this evening event which is 4 hours starting at 4:15pm

Just a related story.  Many years ago DW and I were on the original Star Princess when she called at Santorini.  Late in the afternoon we tendered back to the ship and decided to go in the hot tub that was located on a top deck.  As we sat in that hot tub the sun gradually moved low in the sky and the reflected light off of Santorini was absolutely spectacular.  Over about a half hour we watched the light, colors, and shadows change as the sun set behind our ship.  Having spent far more than 1200 days on cruise ships (all over the world) this remains one of our fondest cruise moments.  

 

You can read lots of old posts here on CC about going to Oia for sunsets (which we have done a few times) but that does not come close to that sunset from the sea.

Totally agree with @Hlitner When we stopped at Santorini a number of years ago, and the ship stayed until 10pm, the views from the ship were amazing, with wonderful color changes. I wouldn't recommend an excursion to get some really fantastic views.

And another vote for staying on the ship as we too enjoyed wonderful sunset views from the open upper deck.  In addition, (presumably because of the late sailing) a local dance and music group came onboard and performed around the pool deck so we got to enjoy both the performance and the sunset..
