sd63 Posted May 27, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2022 Does Carnival allow you to disembark at a port other than the final port? If so, do you then just need to go through customs and immigration at the debarkation country?
cruisingguy007 Posted May 27, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2022 No. Not currently. You can still on your own but they will bill you if a violation fine is assessed on them. It's like $800 IIRC, someone on another sub forum here got hit with it for disembarking early.
csm5986142 Posted May 27, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2022 I have done this in the past (but maybe it's different now?). About 10 years ago on Carnival's 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise I was able to get off at our last port stop (Puerto Vallarta) and fly back to LGB from there. I had checked with Carnival prior to my cruise and they approved it (I needed to get back a day before the ship). I was told to notify guest services when I got on board. They had a small group of us meet in the library and fill out forms/get debarkation instructions.
firefly333 Posted May 27, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2022 I've read no cruise lines are allowing this since covid. As someone said ...other than sneaking off and not reboarding it will not be allowed. Covid regulations and all that .. maybe was a blogger but someone I believe said it's not being allowed since covid.
nwcruiselover Posted May 27, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2022 They stopped it several years before covid. I made a request in 2017 and was told they are no longer allowing what they call “down line debarkation.”
