becko2000 Posted June 4, 2022 #129 Share Posted June 4, 2022 @BirdTravels This is fantastic, we are sailing at the end of July on our cruise that was rescheduled from 2020! Any chance you could post the current kids menu on board? Also, I saw in your pictures at one of the smaller breakfast venues they had fresh fruit in a to go cup, are you seeing that only at breakfast or throughout the day too? My kids live on fresh fruit so to be able to grab a cup for snacks in the cabin would be amazing!

You can also grab a plate of cut fruit at Windjammer most of the day and take it with you.

SKSMIKE5 Posted June 4, 2022 #138 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Can you let me know if there are any golf cart shuttles, or other transportation options in Juneau to transport older guests from the ship to the end of the Pier? We have a Whale Watching tour scheduled here and the pick-up point is in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway. I've been told the walk isn't far, maybe 10 minutes for a non senior (dad's 93). Thanks! The ship docks at the pier. You could request a wheelchair assist up and down the ramp on the dock. And that is where the RCCL shore ex picks up. Sounds like you have booked a private tour and it is about 1/4 mile walk from the berth we used yesterday to the tramway. Nothing provided by the cruise line will take you to your private tour. We did see a few pedicabs, but I wouldn’t count on that. Consider the logistics of what you are booking if you have a mobility challenged member of your party. We did when we used to travel with our elderly parents. And we are getting to the point where we are falling into that category.

Rare BirdTravels Posted June 4, 2022 Author #141 Share Posted June 4, 2022 (edited) The Quantum of the Seas was purpose built for the Asian market. You best brush up on your Chinese before boarding so you can read the signage. Instructions on how to reuse or get fresh towels Instructions on what should be put on the trash Instructions on what not to flush down the toilet Your Do Not Disturb magnet Your Clean My Room Now magnet (don’t get the two confused to avoid “incidents”) Instructions on how to put on your life jacket Warning to not open your balcony door at the same time as cabin door. Rare BirdTravels Posted June 4, 2022 Author #143 Share Posted June 4, 2022 For those who enjoy Casino Royale, the casino is essentially closed on the last day of the cruise (Victoria day) as the ship enters Canadian and Washington state waters. Rare BirdTravels Posted June 4, 2022 Author #146 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Northstar books both free rides and “extended rides” that go over the side of the ship for $19. Pro Tip: Northstar can not operate in windy conditions. Many of the rides while underway were cancelled due to wind conditions. Pro Tip: Book as soon as you embark. The ride sells out quickly on embarkation day.
fsufancc Posted June 4, 2022 #147 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Major props to Bird for taking the time and effort to post so much information. We sail a year next June on the Quantum (I wish it was this June). This is one of the most extensive overviews that I have seen. I can't say thank you enough.

Rare DaKahuna Posted June 4, 2022 #149 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Any information on food and service in Coastal Kitchen, Diamond, and Suite Lounge? We are doing a B2B August & September and are curious at how the under staffing and supply chain issues have impacted those areas.

I am currently on this cruise and Bird has done a fantastic job in documenting this cruise. However, Quantum was not built for the Asia market. Quantum started cruising out of New Jersey and I was on the last cruise out of New Jersy before Quantum went to Asia. (04/24/15- - 05/02/15) Quantum was supposed to do cruises to Bermuda during he summer on 2015, but Bermuda did not dredge the harbor and Royal sent the ship to Aisa. The items listed above were all printed in English in 2015. The Asia venues were not of Quantum in April 2015.
