Ron the Rev Posted June 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2022 Many cruises under our belts but on Princess we have only been on the Grand class. DW is wheelchair bound and sometimes it's a battle to get along the gangways. We are going on the Sky Princess 11 June and wonder if the gangways are wider or narrower ? This website might be helpful to you. It says gangway is wide enough to accommodate most wheelchairs and scooters. Also a lot of extra information. https://www.specialneedsatsea.com/cruise-accessibility/princess-cruises/sky-princess/
mtnesterz Posted June 2, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2022 (edited) It would not depend on the ship, but the facilities at the port, which deck is used and the tide. Some ports have a sissors gangway, making any change in elevation easy to negotiate. The ship does take along a gangway wide enough for a wheelchair. When the tide comes in, the incline would be a challenge. You can't argue with the moon about the tide, so just ask a crewmember to asssist.
