Excursions suggestion for Philipsburg?

Royal is stopping here in a few weeks. We've never been to St. Maarten. Any suggestions for things we should do as our 1st visit to the island? How about private excursions companies? Most of the one with royal is full.

Thanks!

Personally, one would go for a full day Catamaran sail, sightsee, Maho planes, snorkell, lunch, drinks etc etc.

Best to Google charter companies, then contact each for availability, as some will have already committed to the Cruise Line.   Good Luck…

I agree about Bernard’s Tours. I took one some years ago and am going on the same one again this fall. You get a good tour of the island (both the Dutch and the French sides), beach time, some beautiful vistas, a visit to a lizard farm (that was fascinating), a stop at Maho Beach to watch the planes fly in low overhead, some time in the a French town of Marigot to eat or shop, and so on. My husband and I really enjoyed it.

Highly recommend Captain Bob's boat tour... https://www.soualigadestinations.com/

Took it pre-covid and had a blast. His amped up boats fly along the water, you get some snorkel time in multiple spots, some beach time, swim time, see the airport, etc. Free beer, soda, water onboard.

It was also pre- whichever hurricane ravaged St. Martin unfortunately and the lovely little grill & bar he took us to for lunch was destroyed and never rebuilt. So now you get sandwiches as the included lunch.

He's a great guy who moved to St. Martin from New York and runs his business with his family. Our boat captain was his son.

Have always planned to take it again next time we're on the island.

Thanks, I was able to book this same tour for our 10/2/22 sailing on Harmony.

He has an assortment of beverages for his passengers that are free, beers, soda, and water. The drivers always say they don't want to empty the cooler when they return, so drink up. If you're not interested in swimming, he will drop you off in town, or take you back to the ship.
