Beerboy Posted June 9, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2022 Hello, Next week, My girlfriend and I are embarking on the Royal Princess for the south bound cruise to Vancouver. Does anybody have any tips or tricks for the Princess shuttle from Anchorage and embarkation process at Whittier? thx, -BB
Kitty Ellas Mom Posted June 9, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2022 Disclaimer is that I just had to cancel my trip, but I did book a service recommended by the concierge at the Alyeska resort. He also recommended another service. There aren't that many. I recommend asking your hotel, if you have one.
caribill Posted June 9, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2022 I assume you have booked the Pricnessa transfer. Are you taking the transfer from the airport, the convention center or from a hotel? As far as embarkation, you are let off near the terminal, check-in, and board. (I do not remember about luggage, but I suspect it goes from the bus to your cabin without you having to do anything about it.)
Beerboy Posted June 9, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted June 9, 2022 Yes, we booked the Princess transfer, from the "Anchorage City Center" to Whittier.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted June 12, 2022 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2022 You will be picked up from the Egan Center, then. The earlier you get there, the earlier bus you’ll be on. It’s a beautiful drive. Sit on the right side for the coastal view. Check-in in Whittier doesn’t start until the train arrives about 12:05 PM, so you will either arrive right around then or later. The bus drops you off directly in front of the terminal. If you don’t depart til after lunch, I recommend grabbing a Tia’s Reindeer dog from her stand on 4th Ave; there are other stands, but hers are the best. They’re delicious and a unique Alaskan experience. Have fun! I never tire of the AK cruises; they’re so beautiful!
