Norway Fjords on Sky Princess end of August

We will be on the Sky Princess starting August 20th and docking at Bergen, Alesund, Lofoten Islands, Tromso, Trondheim, Olden, Haugesund, Honningsvag, and Skjolden/Sognefjord.  We are excited to see the fjords and our question is will we be able to see any waterfalls as our ship passes through these fjords?

 

Also, is there a suggestion for a shore excursion where we can see waterfalls from a small boat tour?

Unfortunately not.  Smaller streams but nothing bigger.
Most ports are coastal towns except Olden and Skjolden.  You need to be up early to enjoy the scenic Fjord Cruise at sunrise 5:30 for the two ports.
Unfortunately, your cruise is quite late in August so the days are not that long and there is no midnight sun in Honningsvåg.

We just did this cruise and Haugesund is a bit of a bore. Not much to do so I suggest you plan something ahead. The tourist train was ok but expensive. We did see the midnight sun but maybe August it will be gone. We did a trip with Calm Giant in Alesund. Excellent-I can't say enough good things about it. We saw fabulous waterfalls and thick snow. Iggy the owner was our guide and a very funny guy he was. Look at his website for more info. Olden is beautiful, try and get to the glacier if you can. Not much doing in the other places so plan your time well and be aware that you have a long walk into town in Trondheim. Shuttles are 20$ each.

Our June Sky Princess Cruise was listed all along as tendering in Loen but when we arrived we tendered in Olden.
