Cruise credit question

I'm sure this has been asked before but I didn't want to review so many messages....I have a cruise credit for an upcoming cruise.  Can this be used to pay the gratuities or use in the casino, or is it only good for shopping and drinks?

It’s for whatever you spend money on. It’s a credit on your account, so things are subtracted in the order they’re purchased. If you get a drink when you go on first thing, it’s applied to the credit and so on. I believe you can use your credit to purchase some things precruise. The credit would be applied at checkout. Hope this helps.

Should be good for any charges incurred in your folio. They will use up the credit before charging subsequent charges to your credit card.

We just used some of onboard credit to book an excursion online we were afraid might sell out before our Sept. cruise.  There were only 10 spots left and we couldn't count on a later time being offer if the first time sold out.  When we got to the "pay now" page it told us we had OBC and asked if we wanted to use part of it.  What I'm assuming is if we cancel within the proper time frame the amount will be returned to our account.

Can the credit be used for the casino?  Yes, I do play....not planning just "cash it out".

I'm asking because I just got off an NCL cruise where I was not allowed to use the credit against my casino charges!

Just off the Mardi Gras last month and we had no issues using our cruise credit in the casino.
