What to do in LA?

Recommended Posts

Our cruise has a stop in LA from 7 am to 5 pm. On Princess. The only excursion apart from Universal Studios are en route to the airport. Is there shuttles available to say Hollywood, Santa Monica Pier etc from the cruise port? Is anything walkable? What do you suggest that isn’t too far from the ship or easy to get back to in time?

Make sure you know if you are docking in San Pedro or Long Beach. Princess sails out of San Pedro, but if memory serves, there were times (pre-covid) when they docked in Long Beach. Also be sure you know which berth, if it is San Pedro.

The only thing walkable in San Pedro is the USS Iowa battleship and a couple of restaurants. Downtown Long Beach with shopping, dining and an aquarium is only about 5 miles, a quick cab or Uber ride.

If you get an Uber to the Santa Monica Pier, be sure to leave LOTS of time to get back to the ship.
