The price of the HOHO on the excursion list for our cruise is £45, which currently translates as 77.49 Canadian dollars.  That is still more then the $67.9, that you quote as the price in Halifax, but a fair bit less than the $91 that you quote.  Cruise lines do vary in their charges.

 

In fact we have a 10% discount on the ship due to loyalty level, so would bring the price down to $69.74 Cdn for us and most others will likely have a discount as well, though some less than 10%.  Hence, very little in it and no worries about dealing with the currency exchange and any charges for that.  Buying on the ship would also mean a refund if for some reason the ship did not make it into Halifax as planned as well.

 

Not something we are planning to do, but it does depend on what is being charged by your ship.
