VOLEYMOM Posted June 29, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2022 Well The Covid bug has hit. This Saturday we were to board the Panorama. We had 2 cabins and due to special deals we split up. My husband and son-in-law in one. Me, my daughter and grand daughter in another. Everything paid in full of course with tips and drink packages. My daughter just tested positive for Covid. Luckily we have not been around her at all. We had friends who would jump on the ship with us. Figured it would be easy, change the names on the Cabins but no. Since the deals were under the names of our daughter and son-in-law they won't do it. Want to go but don't want to pay a fortune more for the rooms we got at quite the deal. We booked in March and we thought the deals were under our names but really didn't pay that much attention to who had what deal. Has anyone been able to do name changes? I was really looking forward to this cruise. They will give us future cruise credit but our friends would love to go as we would. Any words of wisdom or luck with something like this? firefly333 Posted June 29, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2022 Sounds like maybe casino deals. If it was just regular fares like early saver you could pay maybe $50 and do a name change. Have you called the casino? See what the terms were for the rate you booked.

I am guessing you are correct and since the deals were under the names of the people who can't go Carnival will balk at changing names. They want those gamblers spending 😉
AnitaVacation Posted June 29, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2022 my pvp helped me do a passenger switch 2 days before sailing. Although, I was the primary on the cabin and that does make a difference.
Pyxie Posted June 29, 2022 #5 Share Posted June 29, 2022 If the deals were under their names, I don't think there is going to be much of a way around this without paying more unfortunately. Unless you can find similar deals under your names, but even then, I think you'd basically have to cancel everything and rebook under your deal. groundloop Posted June 29, 2022 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2022 I've been through this one time in the past, Carnival insisted that the person who has the offer a cabin is booked under must sail. If not then the booking is re-fared at full price. They absolutely will not budge on this.
