Casino Offer - Changing Roommates

Hi all,

I'm sure this has been asked multiple times, but couldn't find.  If there is a link someone has at the ready, please post and I will read!

My partner and I both received a Jackpot offer with drinks included everywhere on board.  I did call to see if we could both get it, since we both had separate VIFP numbers and both have the offer available.  They said no.  So we figured, with the offer, not really a bad deal to just book a 2nd interior ($100pp plus $200 onboard credit), so we figured, sure why not, and we can just take some friends along!  So we are past asking the casino host or anyone else to extend the benefit.

So, we each have a booking in our name, and once onboard, plan to do a room swap so we are together, and our guests are together.  Does anyone have any experience with how the OBC works then, will it stay with us?  (and I guess, the drinks benefit too, does that follow the person?  And ideally not the cabin booking number...).  Just not sure how that is done, any help is appreciated!

Edit:  I'd like to specify this is for Carnival - Jackpot Offer FJ1.

TIA!

My advice is NOT to change the room assignments.  Just get extra keys from Guest Services (all should go together) and leave everything alone.  That way you will get all of your benefits, and hey, your friends might get some free chocolate delights.

This is what we have done. OP, I’m surprised though you both couldn’t qualify in one room.  Our PVP has been able to do this multiple times for us since the drinks everywhere is usually only good for one.  In multiple cruises we both got the drink offer in one room.

So we did exactly the same thing for our upcoming cruise. Why wouldn’t we have guest services swap cabin assignments? How is it better to just get an extra key? Thanks in advance!

We were just worried it might mess up the perks - OBC, casino cash, drinks, etc.  it probably wouldn’t be a problem to change assignment but didn’t have to worry about it.

We did this with our daughter and son-in-law in June.  We had a girls room and a boys room. We just went to guest services and got an extra key for both rooms.  It was a basic blue card easy to tell the room key from the sail and sign card.

My wife and I did the same thing on our Hawaii cruise in February (2 weeks).  We each booked a room (me with my adult son; and her with my son's wife).  We swapped rooms on board.  The OBC stayed with the room, but my wife and I got the free drinks.  But as we all know, things change.

This had to be done with guest services after boarding, so you can ask them before you do it to make sure it's what you want.

But I really want those chocolates!  Lol, I'm kidding, maybe it's better this way to play it safe, sounds like the OBC might not transfer, and I DO want that.

Good info, thanks!  If the OBC doesn't transfer, probably will just leave as is and get extra keys.

Yeah, I called and the rep said no.  She spent about 5 minutes "researching" the answer though, so probably just reading policy.  I probably could have pressed further, but by then we already had the idea to just book a free interior and bring some friends!  Good to know for next time though.
