Nieuw Amsterdam Pinnacle Suite Questions

Hey everyone! This October my wife and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary and we're booked on the Pinnacle Suite for a five day cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. We've been on a lot of cruises, but this is our first HAL cruise and certainly the nicest room we've ever had. I wanted to post some questions and see if any Pinnacle suite guests could give me some feedback or suggestions.

1. Any tips or suggestions for staying in the Pinnacle suite?

2. Are there any special perks that are exclusive to this room?

3. We'd like to have dinner in our room as much as possible. Can we ask the concierge to arrange course by course dining?

If you think of anything else that would be helpful, please feel free to share. Again, thanks in advance for your feedback and help! We really appreciate it. 🙂

If you look around theboard, there are several threads on staying in the Pinnacle Suite.

Just sit back and enjoy. The Neptune Lounge staff will take very good care of you. Yes, you can order dinner to be served course by course.

The standard perks are listed on the HAL website. Each ship has a couple extra perks, to be determined by the Hotel Manager and the Neptune Lounge staff.

Op, you can certainly arrange for course by course dining in your room for dinner (evening meal).  You usually need to ask the day before IME.

Traditional perks include being escorted on board and one of the very first to board.

There could be other perks as well depending on the ship but believe me the concierge knows where you are and will do as much as possible to make sure you have an enjoyable stay.

the remainder of the perks are the same as Neptune Suites.

Have a great cruise and enjoy that PS and the tub on the verandah 🙂

Here's a prior thread on Pinnacle Suite perks:

It is a really amazing experience.  Don't hesitate to ask the concierges for anything you need; they pay extra attention to the PS guests.  The thing we like best about staying in the PS is the whirlpool tub on the balcony; it is great to hang out there and watch the sail-away from each port.

  • 1 month later...

Everyone (crew) will know who you are. We learned on a behind the scenes tour that our pictures were hung up in the crew areas so that everyone knew who was in the Pinnacle suites (nothing like coming across your face taped to a wall are you are walking from the galley to the dining room on the tour). The first time we stayed in a Pinnacle suite I had key issues the first day, nothing like approaching guest services and being called by name to skip the line...(I was quite confused).

Also, learned for future reference that the Neptune lounge concierge can replace a faulty key so that you don't have to go to guest services.

With the Pinnacle suites you can request afternoon tea service or evening hors d'oeuvres for up to 8 people. The tea that comes with afternoon tea is the same as the teas you will find in the Lido, but you will have a tea box of Harney & Sons. If you tell your stewards you like a specific flavor they will make sure to keep extras of them in the box.

The butlers pantry has a microwave, commercial fridge/freezer, Nespresso machine and an electric kettle. The non alcoholic beverages in the fridge are free and will be replaced daily. The fridge tends to stick when opening and you may have to give it a good tug. Also, you have to push on the door to make sure it's completely closed.

The hot tub on the deck is great for relaxing but is not very hot. The whirlpool tub in the bathroom was on of my favorite parts (just be careful when turning it on. It fills from the statue mouth on the wall and sometimes gets bumped out of alignment (sprayed water everywhere the first time I used it).

If doing a behind the scenes tour is something your interested in as the Neptune lounge concierge as early as possible. The cruise we were on they weren't offering it to guess, but they made an exception for us.

Just to follow up on one thing Bubbleswvwa said about the keys.  In all our cruises on HAL staying in the Pinnacle suites, we have never once had to go wait in line at the front desk.  Just tell the concierge what you need, including billing problems, and they will get it taken care of for you.  They will also handle booking shore excursions (including sometimes ones that are supposedly sold out), and so many other things.  Don't be afraid to ask, since they go over the top in taking care of the Pinnacle suite guests.
