Magen's Bay and Udder Delight milkshakes

On our upcoming stop in St. Thomas we planned to taxi to Magens Bay to enjoy the beach for a while, and stop at the milkshake stand on our return to the port. Has anyone done this before and have specific tips?

There are 5 of us (ages 12 - adult), so I'm assuming the taxi fare to Magen's will be $8pp each way, but I'm trying to factor in the logistics of the stop at Udder Delights.

I am not sure if it's really walkable from Magens to the milkshake stand, and then easy to grab a taxi from there?

I know it could be more cost effective to rent a car but I don't want to drive!

Help!

It's a fairly long walk from Magens Bay Beach. Maybe 1/2 mile?

Taxi rates have increased so it's more than $8 now. I posted the new rate sheet in another post, but didn't pay attention to what the new rate is. Guess I should read my own post.😊

There are other places selling adult Ice Cream and shakes now. Tap & Still at Havensight is one place, but there are others. When I remember the name I'll post. I took pictures of them so have to check.

We ended up telling the dispatcher at Magens Bay that we wanted to make a stop at Udder Delight instead of heading directly back to the ship. I’m not sure if they were short on taxis that day or what (it was July and I think maybe only 1 other ship in port), but it was turning into a hassle to arrange this. We waited quite a while, and then they put us in a shared safari bus and the driver said she was giving us like 5 min and that was it, she wasn’t going to make everyone wait. That made me nervous because it was me + my 4 kids and I wasn’t sure how we could choose, order, get them made, pay, and be done in 5 minutes. In the end, they waited, and other people on the bus decided to get shakes too, and none of us got left behind.

it was good, but I decided maybe not worth the hassle next time. I suggested we walk to udder delight from the beach, but if we did that, I think it would have been harder to get a taxi back to the port from that location. If you’re going to try this, I think it’s best to talk to the taxi dispatcher at magens and see what’s best.

@Ms411 thanks for sharing there are other similar places now. We will be docked at crown bay on our next visit so I’ll check into other ice cream and milkshake places.

Dizzi Brands is the name I couldn't remember. They're on Facebook so that would be the best place to see their locations whenever you arrive. I didn't see adult ice cream at Crown Bay last month, but that doesn't mean there isn't any.

Will post if I find out there is one.
