Jklover Posted July 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2022 Hi, I am looking for information from anyone who has recently sailed with unvaccinated children and a Certificate of Recovery. My two children tested positive for COVID last week. We are set to sail on 8/5 out of Cape Liberty which allows time for a letter of recovery. Has anyone gotten a letter recently from a pediatrician that can advise me of wording? Has anyone sailed recently under similar circumstances that can share their experience? Thank you in advance. pisces223 Posted July 10, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2022 I have a similar problem and am wondering what the answer will be. I will be following along.
mscinmia Posted July 10, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2022 This is directly from the Royal Website. For all sailings departing on or after March 11, 2022, a Certificate of Recovery, for a positive COVID-19 case at least 11 days before boarding but no more than 90 days ago, may be provided in lieu of a pre-cruise COVID-19 test result to board the ship if it meets certain requirements. However, certain ports (listed below) will not permit guests to go ashore using a Certificate of Recovery. The following two documents must be presented: A certified medical health certificate from a doctor stating that you have fully recovered from COVID-19. It must meet the following requirements: Official letterhead from a healthcare provider, public health official or telehealth provider showing: Their name Their address Their phone number Confirmation of your recovery and completion of isolation Must be typed (not handwritten) and signed by the provider Must confirm the sample collection date of the positive PCR test, which must be a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 90 days before the departure date of your cruise A positive result document for a COVID-19 PCR test taken a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 90 days before the departure date of your cruise. An antigen test result will not be accepted with a Certificate of Recovery. The test results document from your test provider must include the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your positive result. This can be a printed document, email, or telehealth app notification. Fully handwritten doctor’s notes (such as those written on a prescription pad) will not be accepted. Minimal handwritten components (such as a check mark on a “positive” box) are acceptable as long as the other required information is printed on the document. Project-College Posted July 10, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2022 If you go to the SEARCH Bar and type in 'recovery' and search in THIS FORUM, you will see a few threads (one started in May) for what people have done. I am sailing in the 8/5 cruise as well and I know of 1 other person who posted that they tested positive late June and was told no major issues with getting a Letter/Certificate of Recovery in time for a late July cruise. It used to be that getting COVID and recovering meant your all set with immunity for a reasonable time but the latest strain appears to be worse where you can even get re-infected in a couple week! Hope you make the sailing, as I am not one of those 'Witch Burners' (people who yell COVID and want to burn those who have it at the stake)

broadwaybaby123 Posted July 10, 2022 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2022 If you look on the RC website, they have a very specific form that needs to be filled out.

What is your itinerary? If your cruise is to Bermuda you have to have a negative test. Bermuda does not currently accept Certificates of Recovery. Jklover Posted July 10, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted July 10, 2022 Thank you all. I read the Royal website. I’m one of those “Type A” over planners who needs to see things in real life to ease my anxiety. We go to the pediatrician next week so I’m sure the timeline will work. We don’t stop at Bermuda. Thank you all for your help.
